Jerry,

I am revising my bicycle generator to work with a sequence of low voltage
CFLs (which have been ordered). I got the idea from Brian Jones' plenary
talk. I am thinking the incandescents are going the way of CRTs and kids
will find CFLs more familiar (Brian's version was comparing incandescents to
LEDs). I also made up a version of Simcha's double cone paradox.

Tappers,

* First Question:

What new experiment, demo, lab or device have you seen recently that has
caught your attention?

At the summer meeting I was quite impressed when I saw or heard about these
new things:

1. Acoustical Interferometer http://iowadoppler.com/educational.html
2. Interfacing the Nintendo Wii with Labview to do real time free body
motion studies
3. The new bottom loading Flash Tube from Pasco

What have you seen lately that has impressed you?

* Second question

Does anyone know where I can get a small table top device that can do ultra
cold atom trapping?

Thanks to all.

Best,
- Jerry
