Subject: Four foot wingspan expanded polystyrene gliders

Post:

Hi all,
during my outreach show I usually toss a large foam glider into the
audience, while explaining about "lift" and how it's more to do with
Newton's laws than Bernoulli's. Actually, with most of the kids I deal
with it ends up being a model of piranha feeding, hence I seldom get a
glider back intact. I used to buy these gliders by the box. If I
remember correctly there was about 30 to a box. They were considerably
cheaper that way than the about ten bucks a piece it costs to buy them
singly from Wal-Mart, Big Lots, Toys are Us, or the like, and that's
when they actually have them in stock. Unfortunately a combination of a
bad memory and slack record keeping has resulted in me now being totally
oblivious of where I got the original gliders. If any knows of where
they may be purchased in bulk, for less than $10 each, please let me
know, thank you,
David
