I use the solid, aluminum terminal lugs, from OSH hardware.
(for connecting #8 wire in electrical panels, can't ermember the name =
right now).

They are right-angle, $1.50 and you can find right-size wire hole for =
the banana plug.
These work for connecting banana cables to batteries, also, they fit =
snugly.
