Dear Colleagues,

I hope that you all understand how long it took to perfect the look
on my face in the picture from the Apparatus Committee Meeting, This is
my Queen Victoria look after I have just said "We are NOT amused!"

After the meeting Sonia and I took a week-long driving tour that led
to Mount Hood and down the High Desert to Crater Lake. In the lunchroom
there we ran into Bill Hogan, who gave the very good response after
being presented with the Undergraduate Physics Teaching Award. And, on
the way back up the coast, I woke up with the plans for an unusual
harmonograph in my mind.

Does anyone have the name and email address for the woman who was
running the Cenco/Welch booth at the meeting? I may have a spare 1950
Cenco catalogue for her, and misplaced her card.

Recently I have been gathering information about the St. Louis Motor,
developed by high school teachers in St. Louis in 1909. Do any of you
have any experiences or anecdotes about the motor? Does anyone have one
of the oversize models that was sold by either Cenco or Welch about
twenty years ago, probably for lecture demonstrations?

Best Regards,

Tom
