Mine is very visible, brighter than a red laser not as bright as the green.
The spot is different than the green spot. The green is hard on the eyes
because it is so bright, the violet is hard because it doesn't seem as
focused. I am not sure that is the right description but it is uncomfortable
to look at for any length of time

They excite fluorescence nicely in white business cards.

A 50 mw 405 nm looks about as bright as a 5 mw 532 nm laser.
