Tappers:

I have been given a Sharp Aquos flat-panel TV consisting of an AVC System
Model TU-GA1U-S "control box" and an LC-32G4U flat panel display. I was
given these because a lad mistakenly threw a Wii "handset" at the screen,
which (as a result) no longer works. The idea was that I would open up the
boxes an show my students what's inside them.
Before I do that, I have some questions. Maybe some of you can help me
with these:

1. Is anyone familiar with these devices?
2. As far as I can tell, the TU-GA1U-S cannot receive digital TV over the
air. Is that correct? (I thought I might use it as a high-end digital TV
converter box.)
3. Any ideas about how I can use these devices as part of a demo etc.?
4. Even though these look modern, I have the feeling that in the world of
modern TV, they may be considered old.Correct?
5. Might I be able to repair the flat panel display?
etc. etc.

Thanks.
