We finally retired our old General Radio electrometers. After more
than 40 years of faithful operation they pretty well gave up. They
are a genuine beauty inside in terms of mechanical design and
fabrication. We now use Keithley electrometers for demonstration,
model 610, that we bought on eBay for less than $100. I believe they
were around $5000 20 or more years ago. So far, it works fine.
