Subject: Lab Ideas for Algebra Based physics

Colleagues,

I'm looking for lab ideas for our first year physics labs. I am especially
interested in labs that have a biological or modern physics slant as neither
area is currently covered well in our courses. Does anyone have suggestions
on what has worked well for them/their students? As I suspect this topic has
been visited before I will peruse the archives but would also like to get a
more up to date idea of what others are doing.
