I'd like to encourage all of you to enter the AAPT apparatus competition
at Salt Lake this summer. Due to a declining number of entries each
year, there are no longer separate categories for Introductory or
Advanced lab. Thus any apparatus can be entered this year. Also due to
declining entries, the competition is in jeapordy of returning to an
every-other-year event. Please don't let that happen!!!
If you are not familiar with the competition, I have attached an ad that
was published in the Announcer. But the quick summary is that there are
very nice cash awards (up to $1000) and any new or improved apparatus
for Physics is acceptable. I would be willing to bet that virtually
every one of you has an apparatus in your stock room that could be
entered. So please either bring it in person, or send it via the mail
or someone else. You do not need to be present.

Thanks,
Richard Flarend
