G'day,

Many years ago we had a standard experiment in our laboratories where the
acoustic behaviour of a 1 litre glass lab bottle was investigated. The name
given to the experiment was "The Helmholtz Oscillator". The only bit of the
experiment that still comes to mind was that the bottle did not act as a
simple quarter wave tube but more like an open tube in terms of the
mathematics.

There may be some information out there about this which could tie in with
anomalous results being obtained.

Good luck
