Subject: DIY large hoot tubes

Post:

Hey, Zigmund Peacock:

I thought I remembered you saying at the Boise convention that you could
use a cardboard concrete form tube (such as Sonotube) to make a large hoot
tube. If that's not too awfully inaccurate, what diameters and lengths
have you tried? Any special trick to avoid charring the cardboard all to
hell?

Much obliged for your pointers.
(The six-foot Jacob's ladder is in the works now. I'm borrowing a
safety-style electrode design from a smaller model on my shelf, but I'm
keeping an eye out for some fancy ram's horn toppers to supe it up.)
