I am on the wrong thread, but I deleted the "I Love LaTeX" message.

Regarding getting the wrong line editor to open:

1. Is Windows associating your .txt (or whatever your file extensions
are) with the wrong line editor? Change this within Windows. Make sure
the LaTeX files are saved with the proper extension.

2. To prevent wacky program associations when clicking around in the
document:
Go to YAP in the DVI viewer and you can choose the setting to
associate with WinEdt.
