I must be missing something.
I use MSWord for lab manuals and have gone through several Word
versions. Several different graphics programs for diagrams and pictures
which I insert. I separate each document into several sections each of
which constitutes a lab, index, policies, etc.
The labs are over 100 pages and I have no problems with page numbers or
headers and footers.
