I don't have the scope in front of me, but if you are triggering the scope
(single shot or normal modes), you might try pressing the run/stop button
once or twice (i.e. to trigger it manually). Another possibility, once
you have the scope set up the way you want it, is to save the settings
(not the waveform) into memory. After runing the magnet through the coil,
you can recall the setup to restore the original settings, which should
put you back where you started.
