Just a couple of advantages:
The ability to present course materials via the web.
The ability to administer many student practice problems and quizzes without
the time spent grading.
The ability to operate On-line office hours.
I know some of you will say, "but you have no control over cheating", but you
have no control over cheating now. We don't know who does the homework that
is handed in, we only know that we spend a great deal of time in grading it
and recording those grades.
