Sodium Vapor Lamp
Description: The sodium vapor lamp generates an intense (6 candela/cm2) source of monochromatic radiation. 99.5% of the visible output is in the 5889 and 5895 angstrom spectral lines. Use it for showing demonstrations of color perception, interference, diffraction, and spectroscopy.
Instructions: Lamp requires 30 minutes to warm up. If you are going to use the lamp more than once during the day, leave it on. Lamp wear results more from turning the light source on and off than from steady operation.
Hazards: Lamp gets very hot.
Setup Time: none, 30 minutes
