Float Accelerometer

Description: A fishing bobber suspended under water by a string moves in the direction of an acceleration is experiences.

Instructions: The accelerometer will be left in it's box when placed in the classroom. Carefully remove it from the box, invert it, and start accelerating!

Ask your students for theri best guess as to how it works!

Hazards: Be VERY CAREFUL when working with this demo!

It weighs nearly 15 lbs. and would cause major injury if dropped on a foot or student.
