Stretching a Spring
# 1R10.10

Description: A 50 gram mass hanger hangs on a spring. Begin with 50 grams on the hanger. This brings the spring into its linear range. Mark the position of the bottom of the hanger with a clamp. Add 50 gram masses to the hanger marking the position after each addition.

Instructions: Set up Stand with Spring, and hanger with rack of different hanger masses

Parts: Stand, spring, mass hanger, painted ruler to show stretch, rack of masses for hanger
