Description: Heat water in Franklin flask until it boils. Cork the flask and remove from the flame. Invert and place ice cubes in the special concave bottom. As the pressure lowers, the water starts boiling again. Hilton H-5d Heat water to boiling in a round bottom flask, stopper, invert, pour cold water over to maintain boiling. Freier and Anderson Hj-4 A flask with warm water is cooled with ice until boiling starts. Sutton H-75 Boil water vigorously in a flask, stopper and remove from heat, cool with ice or water to show boiling at reduced pressure. A thermometer or thermocouple can be added to show temperature.
