Loose Hammer Head

Description: A hammer head can be tightened by pounding the far end of the handle on a table. This can be demonstrated using a wood block and a short section of PVC. Pound the PVC on the desktop and the wood block slides down a little with each blow. You can then cause the block to rise by pounding the top of the tube with the palm of your hand.

Instructions: The wood block should be snug, but not tight, around the PVC pipe. The friction is adjustable by tightening the wood screws in the wood block.
