Description: Hanging of masses on a spring scale show the reaction of the scale to mass times the acceleration of gravity.

Instructions: Hang different masses on a spring scale and discuss the reaction.

Hazards: Depending on the scale used (and therefore the ranges of masses to use) be careful not to drop the masses on your feet.
