Description: Two large speakers on a cart are hooked up to a function generator and amplifier. Vary the frequency of the signal as the class listens. Have the class raise their hands only as long as they can hear at the extreme ends of the hearing range. At subsonic frequencies you can see the speakers vibrate. DO NOT LEAVE THE POWER ON A SUPER OR SUBSONIC FREQUENCY AS THIS WILL BURN OUT THE SPEAKERS. Speaker limitations do not allow you to test students ability of hearing low frequencies.
