The Sixth Annual

Presents

HEAT AND FLUIDS

A physics demonstration program for young and old presented by the
NC State University
Department of Physics and The Science House.

We will explode hydrogen balloons, make a geyser, and have some fun with
liquid nitrogen in this program about heat and fluids. Our atmosphere will
crush a 55-gallon drum and propel ping pong balls at hundreds of miles per
hour. Some of out other demonstrations are too spectacular to put into words!
Don't miss this show!

There is a tradition at North Carolina State University of using demonstrations in our Physics Classes to show students the reality behind the equations. The Physics Department and The Science House have extended this tradition by giving an annual program to share the excitement and magic of physics with everyone.

The Physics Department at North Carolina State University is one of the largest physics teaching and research departments in the southeast. The department offers physics courses for all of the students at NCSU as well as the physics majors. The department has research programs in several areas of physics and is known for the quality of its research and its undergraduate teaching programs. Graduates of the department go on to careers in teaching, industry, and national laboratories.

The Science House is the learning outreach center of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NCSU. A partnership between NCSU and area teachers, The Science House offers programs for K-12 teachers and students that emphasize hands-on science and mathematics activities. The Science House is also the home of the Physics on the Road demonstration program which reaches schools all over North Carolina.
